Students
Planning for your engineering career is key to being prepared when opportunities for internships, co-ops, and jobs arise. The Career Center offers workshops for resume and cover letter writing, career fair preparation, and interview skills. We provide sample resumes, cover letters, and thank you notes in our Career Development Handbook as well as one-on-one counseling between 9:00-5:00 M-F.
When you are ready to gain relevant engineering experience, check out our job board, which includes internship, co-op, and full-time positions. In addition, the UMass Career Services maintains a searchable job board at www.umass.experience.com.
Every fall around 90 companies participate in the Engineering Career Fair, and we hold a variety of corporate information sessions for companies such as ExxonMobil, General Electric, Abbott Labs, 3M, Raytheon, and Westinghouse. In the spring students can attend the Campus-Wide Career Fair, ALANA, Life Sciences, or Summer Internship/Coop Fairs.
Companies
The Engineering Career Center connects employers with students through job and internship announcements, career fairs, company information sessions, our “Coffee & Careers” networking event, interview scheduling, and plant tours. If your company has engineering hiring needs, whether immediate or in planning for the future, please contact Cheryl Brooks at 413-545-2386 or brooks@ecs.umass.edu.
Each semester, we publish our Corporate Connection Newsletter, which highlights the technical acumen, innovation, research, and communication skills of our students.

At the Center I received productive feedback on everything related towards getting that job that I wanted – from receiving critique on my resume to discovering the do’s and don’ts of the job interview. In the increasingly competitive job market, the Career Center has served as a platform in helping me attain the skills and advice essential to getting where I want to be.”
