Women in Engineering Career Day

Every year, the Women in Engineering Program and the Society of Women Engineers at the University of Massachusetts Amherst host the "Women in Engineering Career Day Conference". This year's Career Day took place on Monday October 24, 2011 at the Lincoln Campus Center Auditorium from 8:30am to 1:30pm. This event was geared towards female high school students (grades 9-12) to introduce them to the field of engineering.

We were honored to have Cissy George, Director of National Engineering at Verizon. In addition to this presentation, two interactive activities were conducted with the students to allow them to build fully operational engineering projects.

There is a maximum of 10 students per school. Registration cost for each student is $12.00 dollars. Counselors and teachers are free! There is an hourly charge to park in the parking garage. The parking garage fee is not covered by the Diversity Programs Office.
